Founders, directors and teachers.
Our teachers are native English speakers from multicultural backgrounds with more than 15 years of experience in teaching the English language and the development of new methods and approaches to learning a language.
Passionate about their work, George and Nadia always have a door open for any students attending the school. Alongside their team, they strive to motivate and stimulate their students to help them achieve their goals and develop passion and interest in the English language along the way.
George loves to travel, learn new languages, discover new cultures, and taste new dishes. When he’s not at Speak and Learn, George can often be found writing. His articles have been published by the magazine SpeakUp and the newspaper il Sole 24 Ore’s supplement English Actually.
Nadia, on the other hand, is a painter and theatre actor who loves musicals, manga, and amazing food. When she’s not at Speak and Learn, Nadia may be found running outdoors or hiking up a mountain.

Based in Milan since 2011, Edna loves using her art to tell stories and writes nursery rhymes too, whichs mean her lessons are always full of colour and music. When she’s not at Speak and Learn, Edna is an artist and works with the Isola Art Center group in Milan.
Edna teaches drawing and storytelling as part of the Speak and Learn courses. She loves the tenacity of pigeons. Edna published her first book in 2021: The Vertical Jungle by Edna Gee is available from Amazon and Book Depository.

“Hey dude!” Josh came to Milan straight from the beaches of Southern California. Half teacher, half surfer, Josh loves anything and everything to do with history, especially the Roman Empire. Josh is a fan of AC Milan.
When he’s not at Speak and Learn, Josh can be found at the San Siro stadium or out and about looking for waves, articles on politics and new things to do in the city.

Sara is the youngest of the team. Her smile is the first thing that people see when they arrive at Speak and Learn.
She loves languages and travelling and is always on hand to help students and answer any questions.
TERRY

Teacher
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Terry has spent most of her life in England and Italy, where she has now lived for 29 years. Terry has been teaching English since 1990. She finds it fun and stimulating and has met countless interesting people and new friends, colleagues and students alike.
A professional journalist, Terry has degrees in Graphology and Neuropathy and has recently started a training course in Oenology and Tasting at the Wine & Spirits Education Trust.
She also teaches an evening tasting course at the Humanitarian Society.

The only Brit on the team! Cammie has a very British approach to teaching, she loves synonyms and the different nuances of words and their meanings.
She has eclectic music taste, a passion for films and TV series and a joke up her sleeve at all times.

Paul may be young still, but he has a long teaching career behind him already. Very popular with our students whatever their age, he is an entertainer who always has innovative ideas and techniques up his sleeve.
When he’s not at Speak and Learn, Paul is a singer-songwriter, director and composer.

Take it easy! With his calm and empathetic vibe, Andres immediately puts students at their ease, creating a relaxed atmosphere in which they can learn English.
When he’s not at Speak and Learn, Andres is a graphic designer, guitarist and skater. Andres teaches guitar as part of the Speak and Learn Arts courses.
PAOLA
PAOLA

She may be the only Italian among us, but Paola has a real passion for anything and everything British. She is the group “mother” and oversees all administration, information requests and the organisation for the exciting study trips offered by the school, as well as the myriad of other tasks that come up day to day at Speak and Learn.
Paola loves people, reading and English literature in particular. Her heroes are Virginia Woolf and Jane Austen and she loves stories about women from all over the world.
